A few of my favorite shots from this weekend. I went out to the state park near me and let my camera fly…

Old Passion, New Spark

So I have always loved photography. It’s been a pleasure for me for as long as I can remember. Several years back I finally got my first digital camera. And that’s when two things happened.. 1) I saved my family A LOT of money, since I was no longer buying 35 mm film by the box. And 2) I increased my picture taking 20 times over. As time went on I got a new digital camera, a Canon digital Rebel XTi, for my anniversary. (My husband is very good to me) I wanted this camera way back when there was no such things as digital, lol. I would have been very happy with the old 35mm version. Of course this would put us back in the poor house, since I’d be once again spending all of our money on film and film processing. But needless to say I was OVERJOYED! I have increased the amount of photos I take again since getting this camera in April of 2008.

Between then and now I have dabbled a bit here and there with trying to get more “professional” looking shots. Especially when doing portraits of my own children. And I have learned a lot and improved quite a bit too. But recently I have really started to experiment and explore my abilities. And I have reach a new height of what I am able to produce. This gives me more confidence and a renewed fire for this life long passion of mine. I have decided that I am going to start sharing my photos here as well.

These are some of my recent shots that I am especially proud of….

Off we go!

Yesterday we had a great time at the NHRA Nationals. Most what we watched was qualifying. But it was a lot of fun anyways. Paul and Lynn joined us and the 4 of us had a blast!

Drew’s teacher made this video. She personalized one for each of her students. It is the sweetest gift and such a great idea. Of course it made me cry as well. My baby is growing up… he’s going to 1st grade in what?.. 3 months?? I think this is making me hyperventilate. I am so so sooooo excited for what is yet to come. 1st Grade…Cub Scouts… and oh so much more! But it is bittersweet because that means he’s growing up and he’s not a baby anymore.

I tried uploading the original video but it was not cooperating. So… here’s a video of the video, lol. Come cry with me!

I have had so much fun spending the last 36 hours with my grandbaby. In just a few months she is going to turn 2 years old. Where did the time go? The past two years have flown by. She’s turning out to have such a great little personality. She’s so smart. She loved books and can be seen sitting and flipping through a book many times a day. She’s happy and smiling all of the time. ::: sigh ::: they grow up way too quickly.

This morning we spent an hour playing in the park together. She is so much fun to hang out with!

My granddaughter, Victoria is spending the night here and I have had a lot of fun with her this evening. She’s been so much fun to play with I am happy she is here.

While playing tonight she kept bringing out this one truck drew has. This truck plays Queen’s song “We Will Rock You” and each time the song comes on she trys to mock it/sing it. But no sound come out of her mouth.. and she does an “I don’t know” sort of thing with her hands, lol. It is so funny… and it kept me amused for… umm…. 30+ minutes, lol. Here watch it with me… so funny!!!

The family and I just watched for, almost 2 hours, a bear being carved from a large stump of wood. It was so cool to watch. What a neat form of art. I uploaded the pictures from beginning to end up on my Flickr. This is so neat…

My oldest turns 20 today!! Can you believe it?? She’s 20 years old! I can’t believe it… I simply do not know where all the time went. She’s turned into such a smart, beautiful woman. She’s a wonderful mother to my beautiful 17 month old grandbaby, Victoria. I couldn’t be more proud of her and her accomplishments.

I love you Ashley!! Happy 20th!!
